Our Issues

Building GLBT Inclusive Communities – We are working to ensure that the no one is discriminated against based on sexual orientation or gender identity at work, in housing, or in public accommodation in any community in our region,

Safe Schools – We are working with students, parents, and teachers to make our schools harassment and discrimination free for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender youth.

Reducing Hate Crimes – Anti-gay hate crimes are still too common. We are tracking anti-gay crimes and ensuring that laws that include sexual orientation and gender identity are enforced.

Family and Parenting – We are working to protect the families of all children being raised and nurtured by GLBT parents. This includes protecting adoption and foster parenting by loving parents of any sexual orientation.

Combating Discrimination at Work – We work with people and groups seeking to enact policies in their workplace that prohibit discrimination against anyone based on sexual orientation or gender identity or expression.

Domestic Partner Benefits - We support employees and employee groups seeking to gain domestic partner benefits for same-sex couples.

Marriage – We support civil marriage for same-sex couples. We support churches and clergy whose practice and beliefs already embrace marriage between same-sex couples, and we are working to help others seeking to raise this issue in their own faiths.

Sex Education – We support age-appropriate sex education that includes positive, scientifically accurate information on sexual orientation and gender identity, and that is not limited to abstinence-only.

HIV education and testing – We support anonymous, free HIV testing,

EQUALITY CINCINNATI PAC, a separate organization, endorses candidates for office and lobbies for laws that move us closer to full equality.
